The Tampa Bay Lightning solidify their blueline as they have acquired defensemen, Eric Brewer from the St.Louis Blues Friday afternoon in exchange for the rights to prospect Brock Beukeboom and a third round pick in 2011.
Brewer, 31, is in his final year of his four-year contract, and has played in 54 games this season recording eight goals, 6 assists, and 57 penalty minutes. In his career, Brewer has played in 736 NHL games while recording 64 goals and 144 assists. Though, he has a career plus/minus of -107 he is currently a plus one this season, which is his best since being a plus 15 in the 2000-01 season.
Brock Beukeboom, the son of former NHL defenseman Jeff Beukeboom, was drafted in the third round by the Lightning in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and has yet to see action at the NHL level. Beukeboom, 20, has played in 44 games for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League this season tallying eight points including a goal and seven assists along with 54 penalty...
