The NHL lockout didn’t seem to slow down the Lightning Saturday night. Martin St. Louis and Eric Brewer scored two goals each to help the Bolts get past the Washington Capitals 6-3 on opening night.  Three of the Lightning’s six goals came via the power play, two of those three were Martin St. Louis’ goals. The power play units were an area Tampa Bay focused to improve on. So far so good as they were 3-11 on the power play while holding Washington to 1-7 on their opportunities. Rookie Cory Conacher had a nice debut. He finished with two points while scoring his first NHL goal, extending the Lightning lead to 5-3 in the third period. “It’s very awesome. I couldn’t have done it without these guys,” Conacher said when asked about his first career goal. “Obviously the win is more important. Hopefully we can keep rolling; we have three games in four nights, it’s important for us to get some rest now for our game on Monday at 1pm.” Vinny Lecavalier also contributed with a goal in the first period. Abders Lindback got his first career win in net for the Bolts, stopping 27 of 30 shots faced. The Lightning have won their last three season openers and improved to 12-6-2 in those games. The Lightning also improved to 10-7-2-1 in home openers. (Photo Credit: AP) The post Lightning all over the Capitals on opening night appeared first on The Bay Cave.
