The five game losing streak finally comes to an end for the Lightning as they defeated the New Jersey Devils Tuesday night. Nate Thompson his first of two goals with under three minutes to play in the first period to give the Lighting a 1-0 at intermission. Martin St. Louis and Alex Killorn scored two goals in the second period to give the Bolts a 3-0 lead. After Thompson extended the lead to 4-0, New Jersey scored two goals, one short handed and the other a power play goal from Patrick Elias, within two minutes of eachother. As the momentum felt as if it were shifting and Tampa Bay was about to have another collapse, they would hold off the Devils and add an empty netter to make a 5-2 final. Both teams were chippy throughout the game. There were four fighting majors called and both sides had other moments where more gloves could have been thrown off. The Lightning are back at home Thursday night against the Winnipeg Jets. The post Lightning get the offense going in win over the Devils appeared first on The Bay Cave.
