The Tampa Bay Lightning are out of playoff contention but it is not stopping the veterans from playing hard. After being down 1-0 at the first intermission, the Bolts rally back to beat Toronto 5-2 which featured a hat trick by Martin St. Louis. Steven Stamkos and St. Louis made it a 2-1 game in the second period. Toronto would tie it back up after Joffrey Lopul’s wrist shot beat Lightning goalie Ben Bishop. But that would be all for the Maple Leafs would score as the Bolts would tack on three more in the third period — two from St. Louis — for the 5-2 win. “It’s a big win for our team,” St. Louis said after the game. “I thought we started well and we played good, got better as the game went on.” Tampa Bay has two games left on the season. They travel to Boston to play the Bruins Thursday night. The post Lightning pick it up late to beat the Maple Leafs appeared first on The Bay Cave.
