Interesting that Caputi gets a look on the fourth line as he’s now been officially replaced by a healthy Fredrik Sjostrom on the third.
Ron Wilson has mentioned that the Leafs will likely carry two extra forwards going into the regular season. Those two will likely be Caputi and John Mitchell, but let’s see how our buddy Luca does on the bruiser line tonight. He could force the hand of Wilson into playing only one of Brown or Orr on any given night.
Mitchell gets another shot to wrestle his third line centre spot from Tim Brent but it’s likely too little too late. Chances are that Brent will get the start next week against the Canadiens in the season opener and they’ll battle it out from there.
Though it’s been known for a few days, the line of Kadri, Grabovski and Kulemin has a lot of Leafs fans excited. It’ll be fun to see if Kadri can repeat the success he had as winger a few nights ago versus the Senators.
