Being an individual that always looks to the numbers, I wanted to compile a list of multiple ranking throughout the hockey world of where the Nashville Predators may end up in the playoffs this season. Here are the results for national coverage:

Puck Daddy: Wyshynski – 8th
Puck Daddy: Leahy – 6th
Puck Daddy: Mooney – 4th
Puck Daddy: Chesnokov – 4th
Puck Daddy: Lambert – 4th
Puck Daddy: Dobber – 6th
Bleacher Report – 7th
Pro Hockey Talk: Yerdon – 6th
Pro Hockey Talk: O’Brien – 7th
Pro Hockey Talk: Reitz – 6th
Hockey Writers – 7th

This gives an average finish for the Nashville Predators of 5.9. Yet I wondered how much local influence and following of the Predators from a closer vantage point would affect the results, so I delved further and found some local Predators blogs previews and the results are as such:

Preds on the Glass – 3rd
Hockey Night in Nashville – 5th
RLDHockey – 7th
PredGold – 5th
View from 111 – 5th
Paul McCann(Hockeybuzz) – 5th
The Predatorial: Kristopher Martel – 3rd
The Predatorial: Jeremy Sargent – 4th

This gives an average finish of 4.62. Not too far off from the supposed “hockey experts,” but there is a sense of favoritism among those that cover the Predators on a daily basis. Hopefully those that follow the Predators more closely are seeing something the rest of the hockey world doesn’t see. It’s no surprise that quite often the rest of the NHL writers pick the Predators to not even make the playoffs yet Nashville has made the playoffs 6 out of the last 7 years.

Here’s hoping for a strong season for the Predators and home ice advantage in the playoffs.
