Lucic was ordered not to fight as Laraque plays so little, lucic plays so much, it's a bad trade off:

The point is, if you're a scorer with bruising abilities, you can be a fighter, but you have to be smart about it.
Besides, it was Georges Laraque who was "wussing out." He asked Lucic if he wanted to fight, as if that were going to work. "Hey, Milan, you want to fight?" "No." "You sure?" "Yes." "How about now?" "No." (later in the game) "Hey, Milan, you want to fight?" "No." "How about now?" "No." And so on, and so forth. If he wanted to get a fight going, he needed to do something to provoke that, i.e., take out one of their other top players or Lucic's linemates. But he didn't do that, so he basically wimped out.
