It’s the holiday season and many athletes — even locked out ones — are in the holiday spirit. But Flyers forward Scott Hartnell and Maple Leafs left winger James van Riemsdyk added a little creativity to their gift-giving.
The two NHLers started an effort on social media to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief and managed to raise more than $40,000. However, there was a wager involved, and van Riemsdyk came out on the losing end. Thus, he was forced to go shopping through Minnesota’s famous Mall of America wearing full hockey gear.
