New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur took a jab at Sean Avery for appearing on Dancing With The Stars and getting booted off the show so quickly. NJ.com asked him about it and Brodeur had this to say: “What more could he do to embarrass himself?” Brodeur said with a chuckle. “There it is!” Avery isn’t one to let someone else have the last word and so he chimed in with these two daggers. The first tweet has since been deleted, but the second one is still up. Avery with the KO in this bout. Sean Avery takes cheap shot at Martin Brodeur over ‘Dancing with the Stars’ rip

The bitterly antagonistic relationship that once existed — and apparently still does — between Sean Avery and Martin Brodeur hit a new low recently when the former hockey agitator viciously responded to the goalie’s rip over Avery’s appearance on “Dancing with the Stars.” Of course, Avery and Brodeur enjoyed a vitriolic rivalry on the ice […] The post Sean Avery takes...

Sean Avery Unloads On Martin Brodeur Over ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Remarks

Martin Brodeur and Sean Avery have never been the best of friends. Their most famous confrontation came in the 2008 playoffs when Avery, then with the Rangers, committed to an obnoxious screen in front of Brodeur that eventually led to a goal and, ultimately, a league rule change. But, despite the fact that Avery hasn’t suited up for an NHL game in a couple of years, their personal...

Sean Avery calls Martin Brodeur 'Fatso' in response to 'Dancing with the Stars' comment

On Wednesday, Martin Brodeur was asked about former nemesis and NHL hell-raiser Sean Avery appearing on "Dancing with the Stars," and the Devils goalie said he didn't watch the show but replied, "What more can he do to embarrass himself."Avery — who was voted off the show after one week — fired back via Twitter. Then the Twitter-happy Avery got personal...

Sean Avery renews NHL feud over DWTS

Retirement hasn’t softened Sean Avery. The former Ranger and eternal agitator took yet another swipe at Devils great Martin Brodeur — or, Fatso, as Avery once coined him — after Brodeur deemed Avery’s elimination from “Dancing With the Stars” embarrassing. “Woke up beside a #Supermodel to hear news that #Fatso made a comment…..@DancingABC equals Thousands of $ for...

Martin Brodeur thinks he’ll play in 2014-15

Martin Broduer may wait one more year before he hangs up his skates. The 41-year-old goaltender has stated that he thinks he will play in 2014-15, extending his NHL career to an incredible 22 years. In an interview seen on NHL.com, Brodeur answered rather bluntly about his future in the league. When asked if he’ll return, Brodeur simply said, “I think so.” However, nothing...

Sean Avery, Martin Brodeur feud after Dancing w/the Stars

Sean Avery appeared on the latest season of “Dancing With the Stars” for just one week before being voted off. He and partner Karina Smirnoff were one of two pairs that were given the boot after week one, and New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur seemed to enjoy his former nemesis being eliminated so soon. […]

Why The Devils Are Missing The Playoffs

Last season the New Jersey Devils missed the playoffs.  I argued that they were a better team than their record showed as they had a very good team Corsi.  In fact it was second best in the NHL.  Many people looked at the Devils as a team that missed the playoffs and had their top offensive player in Ilya Kovalchuk leave on them and saw a poor season.  Some even picked them to...

Devils' Michael Ryder not shocked to see himself demoted to fourth line

Michael Ryder isn’t shocked that he has been demoted to the Devils’ fourth line. But that’s where he found himself in Tuesday’s VIP practice in front of fans on the main rink in Prudential Center. “Well, I only have one goal in how many games is it? The coach thinks this is the best thing to do for the team, so I just have t work hard and try and earn my ice time back...

One of sports' biggest individual rivalries is apparently back on

Whether it's Bird/Magic, Shaq/Kobe, or Ali/Frazier...individual rivalries create some of the most compelling sports moments and leave lasting images that burn into our brains forever. For my money the Sean Avery vs. Martin Brodeur battle has been the most intense and personal.I'm not sure if the rivalry is 100% back, but it took a very public turn this week after Sean Avery...

Avery, Brodeur Trade Barbs Over Early Exit From Dancing With The Stars

In one of the most disappointing moments of The New York Rangers Blog’s 6+ year history, I was unable to get out the vote for Sean Avery to advance to the next round on Dancing With The Stars as he was embarrassingly the first “star” eliminated from the competition Monday night… Which is shocking considering all the practice time Avery put into it… Now, to rub salt in...
