Marty Turco made good on his first complete game as the Bruins goalie, snatching 25 saves on 27 shots in Boston's 3-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday night. Turco was adorned in new, bright yellow pads for the victory -- his first win in over a year. The win was also Turco's first with the Bruins and followed his rough outing against Tampa Bay, where he was heavily shelled to the point of being replaced by Tim Thomas. He stayed in net all Sunday night, leading the Bruins to their second win in two days.

Bruins 3, Ducks 2

Marty Turco won for the first time in the NHL in more than 13 months with the help of a disallowed goal that would have tied it, and the Boston Bruins got second-period goals from Zdeno Chara and Benoit Pouliot less than 1 1/2 minutes apart to beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 on Sunday night. Anaheim's Matt Beleskey beat Turco to the stick side with a wrist shot just inside the left...

Which Bruins Forward Will Rich Peverly Replace When He Returns to the Lineup?

Rich Peverley is close to returning to the Bruins, which seems like it should be a good thing for the Bruins. However, with the one healthy body returning to the lineup, that means another one will have to head to the bench to make room. With the team playing better as of late, Claude Julien will have a tough decision to make when attempting to figure out which forward will be the...

Zdeno Chara Sends Shot Off Defender to Put Bruins Ahead Against Ducks (Video)

Thanks to some help from the front line, defenseman Zdeno Chara sent the puck off a defender and through the five-hole to put the Bruins ahead early in their Sunday night matchup against the Ducks in Anaheim. As the Ducks moved up the ice, the Bruins' forwards cut off any easy passing lanes and captured the puck. After some deft passing and a Brad Marchand shot on goal, Chara...

Zdeno Chara Praised for Durability, Endurance Over Course of Now 1,000 Game NHL Career (Video)

Zdeno Chara celebrated his 1,000th game in the NHL on Saturday night with a trip to Los Angeles. Chara has been the epitome of consistency since entering the league and even moreso since coming to Boston in 2006. The Bruins are very happy to have the 6-foot-9 monster on their team and as their captain. Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley discussed Chara's importance to the Bruins...

Thomas has 40 saves in Bruins' victory

Balanced scoring, strong third periods -- like this one against the Los Angeles Kings -- and the dependable goaltending of Tim Thomas have given the Boston Bruins reason enough to think they can successfully defend their Stanley Cup title. Milan Lucic and Chris Kelly scored less than 1 1/2 minutes apart early in the third period to break open a tie game, Patrice Bergeron scored...

Brian Rolston, Strong Third-Line Play Among Factors Fueling Bruins' Recent Resurgence in Stanley Cup Run

A couple of weeks ago, the Bruins were in the dumps and in a funk. Mired by a slew of injuries and a lack of effort, they were in jeopardy of dropping down in the Eastern Conference standings. While they still have their share of problems, a return to form with wins in four of their last five games has the faithful fans feeling pretty good about the B's as the postseason quickly...

Bruins' 'Jekyll and Hyde' Play Can Be Remedied by More Consistent Offensive Effort

The Bruins have been, at times, this season a Jekyll and Hyde team. And more often than not, that comes down to what they're doing in the offensive zone. When the B's are going good, the goals come in bunches, as do the wins. That's why things like the return of Rich Peverley and the evolution of the Benoit Pouliot-Chris Kelly-Brian Rolston line come as much welcomed...

Zdeno Chara Set to Play 1,000th NHL Game, Rich Peverley Close to Return But Won't Play Saturday in L.A.

Zdeno Chara will play his 1,000th NHL game Saturday night in Los Angeles. Rich Peverley will have to wait to play his 326th, but not for too much longer. While Chara celebrates his milestone against the Kings, Peverley is scheduled to skate in warm-ups with the Bruins, but has already been ruled out for the game. He continues to progress from the knee injury that has sidelined him...

Bruins Found Their Game, Some Surprising Sources of Offense, A Little Breathing Room Atop Division on Successful Road Trip

The Bruins still have to venture out of the Garden a few more times this season, but venturing into unfamiliar territory should be a little more comfortable after enjoying some success on their most recent excursion. The Bruins have three more road games on their schedule, but they are done with their extended trips after wrapping up their three-game West Coast swing Sunday in Anaheim...

Bruins Enjoying 'Stanley Cup Problems' With Improved Play Despite Uncertainty of Results (Video)

The Bruins have had an uneven season, to say the least. From the rocky start, to the torrid November, to the uneven slump until a recent uptick, the B's have never really had a dull moment. Now, they are finally looking more and more like the team that caught fire in the playoffs and went on a run to the Stanley Cup. Even if they aren't winning every game, they look like...

Boudreau go BOOM! BRUINS WIN!

Much of the Days of Y'Orr staff kind of likes the Ducks. Especially Robb. Kid's boner almost burst through the computer screen in DOY chat when the Ryan to Boston rumors popped up during trade season.Purrgeron hates them. Something about birds being dicks. We won't pretend we can get into the mind of a cat. But when you see a team once a year it is hard to build up hate...

Bruins Live Blog: B's Look to Close Out California Trip With Back-to-Back Wins, But Will Face Tough Task in Anaheim

8 a.m. ET: The Bruins ended their four-game road losing streak Saturday in Los Angeles. Now they'll look to close out their California trip with back-to-back victories as they take on the Ducks in Anaheim on Sunday. That won't be easy, though. The Ducks are out of the playoff mix in 12th place in the West thanks to a brutal first half of the season, but they've been among...

Boston Beans Ducks 3-2

Bad calls happen all the time.  So do good calls, but it is the bad ones that people remember.  The Ducks were victims of a bad call on Sunday in a 3-2 loss against Boston, with a goal waived off due to alleged goaltender interference.  While there is still some complaining about the call going on, what is being missed is the fact that the Ducks made a couple of critical errors...
