Per Larry Brooks, Benoit Pouliot’s time in the lineup has come to an end. The recently recalled J.T. Miller will take his spot in the lineup, skating with Derick Brassard and Carl Hagelin. The other lineup change is Justin Falk in for Michael Del Zotto. It appears Alain Vigneault is matching Del Zotto and Falk based on opposition. The Devils have a little more snarl in the lineup, so the tougher Falk dresses.
Derek Dorsett is still battling wrist issues, and is not playing tonight.

The New York Rangers announced this afternoon that they have dealt F Brandon Mashinter to Chicago for fellow F and former first-round draft choice, Kyle Beach. Beach, the 11th overall selection in the 2008 draft, has yet to debut in the NHL. Mashinter meanwhile has 23 games of big league experience, 10 with the Rangers, […]
The Rangers have recalled forward J.T. Miller from the Hartford Wolf Pack. In six games with the Pack this year, Miller has a line of 5-1-6 with 6 PIMs and a +4 rating. Miller has spent most of his time with the Rangers this season, dressing for 15 games and a 1-1-2 line with a -4 rating and 8 PIMs.
With both Taylor Pyatt and Benoit Pouliot struggling, it is expected that Miller...
You hate to say an 82-game season that stretches from October to April can be defined by nine games in December. You are taught to avoid such inflated talk. But the New York Rangers, who begin a nine-game homestand Saturday against the Devils, may well see their fate determined in the coming weeks.
When the team began the season with nine games on the road – the first five out...
via Katie Strang of ESPN New York,
After the game, one in which his team rallied from behind on Chris Kreider's game-tying goal with less than 22 seconds in regulation, Rangers coach Alain Vigneault was unable to shed much light on what happened to one of the team's top defenseman.
But what he did say is, at the very least, cause for concern.
In a bit of a surprising move, the Rangers have traded forward Brandon Mashinter to the Chicago Blackhawks for forward Kyle Beach. Mashinter. In ten total games with the Rangers over two seasons, Mashinter was held off the score sheet with ten PIMS. With Hartford this year, Mash had a line of 1-6-7 in 11 games with 15 PIMs.
Beach, currently with the Rockford Icedogs of the AHL, has...
December is a big month for the Rangers. After losing a sloppy game at home against the Jets, the Rangers played better in their win in Buffalo. Now the Devils are in town to kick off nine straight home games for the Blueshirts. Beating Jersey is very important, as the Rangers are two points up on the Devils with a game in hand, but taking hold of this nine game home...
Anthony Duclair (Quebec Remparts)Saturday had a little of everything from the New York Ranger and New York Islander prospects as the separation is beginning to show between those who are serious prospects to those who barring a change won't see a professional contract from either the Islanders or Rangers. To many of you this may seem like it is too early to start thinking about...
It’s as if saying the words “five hundred” around the Rangers nowadays is akin to cursing.
That’s because the Blueshirts have spent just about the past month hovering around that line of mediocrity, with wins and losses evening out in equal fashion and keeping them from separating themselves as either a good team or a bad one.
“Good teams need to string winning streaks...

Now that all the hemming and hawing over Henrik Lundqvist’s contract situation has been completed, Cam Talbot’s future has been an oft-discussed topic. Whatever you may think about the specific details of the contract, Hank is going to be manning the pipes at the Garden until 2020-2021.
This brings us back to Talbot. His emergence this season as a...
New York Rangers defenseman Marc Staal sustained an upper-body injury in the third period of a game Saturday against the New Jersey Devils at Madison Square Garden and did not return.
Staal was injured 6:41 into the third after taking a shoulder to his upper body from Devils rookie Reid Boucher. Staal immediately got up and stormed off the ice in disgust.
The Rangers host the Washington...

After a disappointing overtime loss against New Jersey, the Capitals are in town looking to pad their lead on the #2 spot in the Metropolitan Division. The Caps have 32 points to the Rangers 31, but have a game in hand. Naturally, a win tonight would go a long way to giving the Rangers some breathing room in the division. Plus a win tonight would give them two...
Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers’ mastery of the Washington Capitals dated from last spring, when the teams met in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. But after going 202 minutes 28 seconds without a goal against New York in their previous four meetings, the Capitals decided they had had enough.
Washington scored twice, 25 seconds apart, in the second period Sunday...

The New York Rangers' recent struggles at Madison Square Garden can be traced to last month's meeting with the New Jersey Devils.
Henrik Lundqvist and Rick Nash could be key to avenging that defeat.
The stars look to get the Rangers untracked at home while helping them avoid a third straight defeat to the Devils for the first time in almost five years Saturday night.
