Outside the Boxscore:
Before the start of Wednesday night's Montreal Canadiens/Boston Bruins game, Montreal goaltender Carey Price was practicing guarding some warm-up shots from his teammates. Sadly for Price, one shot got away from center Lars Eller and hit Price in a very sensitive area as he tried to make the save: Price would end up being okay and started the game in goal for Montreal.
BEST OF MAXIM
Canadiens goaltender Carey Price had a rough pre-game warmup prior to Wednesday’s Habs-Bruins rivalry matchup, as he got smoked in his reproductive pouch by a shot from teammate Lars Eller.
As you would expect from a man who just took a frozen rubber biscuit to the goodies at high-speed, Price doubled over in pain and immediately got the hell out of there, heading straight to the...
Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price had a rough start to his night Wednesday as he took a puck in the groin during warm-ups before Wednesday night's game against the Boston Bruins.
Price was blocking some warm-up shots from his teammates when center Lars Eller sends a wrist shot right into Price's ding-ding.
Price briefly left the ice, but recovered in time to start...
This is what an NHL goaltender looks like after taking a shot to the junk.
During warm-up before their game against the Bruins Wednesday night, Canadiens goalie Carey Price had the unfortunate experience of taking a Lars Eller practice shot to the groin, which is an altogether terrible experience for any man, boy or hermaphrodite, protective cup or not.
Price was able to shake off...
Ha! We were trying to think of a way to write the headline so it didn't sound too juvenile and not make a dick joke.
The reason: Take a look at the video at the bottom. In it, you'll see Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price get the "Wind" knocked out of him in warm ups as he blocks a wrist shot from one of his own players.
The problem: He missed and the puck...
In a scene straight out of a wacky kids sports comedy, Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price took a warm-up shot to the junk and crumpled to the ice. I eagerly await the George C. Scott remake. Tomas Plekanec probably wishes you didn't see that. In on a breakaway against Tuukka Rask, Plekanec failed to get a shot off, instead mishandling the puck and sending it straight to the corner boards. As if wasting a scoring chance wasn't bad enough, the Montreal Canadiens were called for "Too many men on the ice" shortly after Plekanec's embarrassing misfire...
WHAT YEAR IS THIS?
On Wednesday night, Will Smith made an appearance at the Bell Centre in Montreal for the game between the Canadiens and Bruins. Why he was in Montreal is uncertain, but he definitely got hooked up with some great seats in a box for the old school Original 6 rivalry.Smith was featured on the big screen and the DJ played one of his old school tracks “Gettin Jiggy With It” over...
from Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette,
Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban made a modest return to action on a perfect Super Bowl weekend. He was neither a commanding presence nor a step out of place, but rather one of a half-dozen blue-liners who contributed to a sweep of the Buffalo Sabres and Ottawa Senators.
And there’s not a thing wrong with that.
I said coming into the season that Tuukka is the key to the Bruins season. And tonight was a primary example of why. Rask stood on his head over the course of the game and denied countless scoring opportunities that the Canadians had. His play is what kept the game in check and allowed the Bruin's to come out with a much needed W against their rival.
The power play continues...
The Rivalry Continues
Tonight will be the first of four games between Boston
and Montreal this year. The season
series begins in Canada
at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
The Bruins (6-1-1)
and the Canadiens (6-2-0) are
both off to hot starts in the mini-season. The early success of both teams will
boost the intensity of the game and will ignite a playoff atmosphere at the Bell Centre in Montreal...
The Montreal Canadiens were victimized by a hot goaltender in their last game.
Another meeting with the struggling Buffalo Sabres may get the offense going again.
The Canadiens look to rebound from a recent defeat as they attempt to beat the Sabres for the second time in less than a week Thursday night.
Montreal (6-3-0) is scoring 3.0 goals per game, but the team has totaled that...
8 a.m. ET: The Bruins and Canadiens (finally) renew their rivalry on Wednesday night when the B’s head north to take on the Habs for the first time in this shortened season. It’s a bit surprising that we had to wait this long, perhaps, but after eight games, the Bruins tangle with the Canadiens for the first time in 2013.
It’s a rather important game, as all divisional games...
(Mackensie Alexander chooses Clemson on ESPNU - USA Today/Robert Mayer)
Flash back to June 14th, 2012 - that was the day the nation's No. 1 recruit, Robert Nkemdiche, announced his verbal commitment to.... Clemson. To say it left the college football world stunned was a little bit of an understatement and it vaulted the Tigers into the conversation of having the best class...
