This is a touching reminder of how a sports star can connect with a fanbase in a powerful fashion. John Tavares means a lot to New York Islanders fans (trust me I would know, I am wearing this shirt while typing this). He has absolutely revitalized a franchise once left for dead. Despite a disappointing season, Tavares’ injury, and ineptitude in the front office Islander fans continue to get back up despite being constantly kicked in the face. Saints like Ashley Diffendale, 8 3/4, make me proud to be an Islander fan despite the fact that they have sucked the life out of me.     Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

No John Tavares, so now what for the Islanders?

ohn Tavares' season-ending knee injury suffered in the Olympics is cause for plenty of emotional reactions: Sadness, disgust, resignation. Islanders fans are right to cry, "Us? Again?" One reaction that this blow does not warrant, though, is panic. The 2013-14 Islanders' season already was a profound disappointment before Tavares went down. Barring a true miracle...

How Team Canada Won Olympic Gold

The Olympics are over, but I still feel the "hangover" from the best hockey we have seen in years (at least since 2010).  The question worth asking is how did Canada win.  In short, they did as well as they did because Canada has more talent than any other nation in the world.  More of the top scorers in the NHL are Canadian than any other nation.  The top three scorers...
