Tonight’s slate:
Senators @ Maple Leafs, 7:00 ET
Jets @ Devils, 7:00
Wild @ Flyers, 7:00
Hurricanes @ Penguins, 7:00
Islanders @ Capitals, 7:00
Oilers @ Blue Jackets, 7:00
Predators @ Rangers, 7:30
Bruins @ Lightning, 7:30
Red Wings @ Stars, 8:30
Kings @ Canucks, 10:00
Flames @ Sharks, 10:30

Game of the night:
Los Angeles Kings @ Vancouver Canucks
10:00 ET… TV: Local Networks

Records:
Overall: Kings (22-15-9) … Canucks (28-15-3)
Away/Home: Kings (9-5-6) … Canucks (12-6-2)
Last 10: Kings (5-1-4) … Canucks (6-3-1)
Season Series: Tied 1-1

Starting goaltenders:
LA- Jonathan Quick (2011-12 stats: 19-11-8, 1.95 GAA)
VAN- Roberto Luongo (2011-12 stats: 18-10-3, 2.41 GAA)

Injury report:
LA- Simon Gagne (concussion, out), Scott Parse (hip, out)
VAN- Sami Salo (concussion, out), Andrew Ebbett and Aaron Volpatti (shoulder, out)

Three things to watch:
1. Battle of elite goaltenders
Jonathan Quick is in the Vezina discussion this year; Roberto Luongo was a Vezina finalist last year. In his last five road starts, Quick is 3-0-2 with a 1.15 GAA. In his last nine home starts against the Kings, Luongo is 7-1-1 with a 1.39 GAA. If both play to their capability, something will have to give. This should be a good goaltending duel.
2. Low-scoring Kings
In 25 games since Nov. 22, the Kings have scored more two goals just seven times (counting shootout wins). They boast an 11-8-6 during that span, however. The Kings have been successful amidst the scoring woes due to Quick’s great goaltending and Darryl Sutter’s system. But against Vancouver tonight, one or two goals likely won’t be enough.
3. Canucks looking to bounce back
On Sunday, the Anaheim Ducks won 4-1 in Vancouver in convincing fashion. Alain Vigneault’s club will be out to get back on track tonight. The Canucks have not gone more than one game without accumulating at least a point since early November. They’ll be looking to re-capture the top seed in the conference (for the time being), as well.

Final thought: Due to their playoff meeting a couple years ago, there is no love lost when these two teams meet. Quick has been good on the road lately, but the Canucks are the better team and will get two points tonight. Prediction: Canucks 3, Kings 1

The rest of today’s predictions:
Maple Leafs over Senators
Devils over Jets
Flyers over Wild
Penguins over Hurricanes
Capitals over Islanders
Blue Jackets over Oilers
Rangers over Predators
Lightning over Bruins
Stars over Red Wings
Sharks over Flames
