Starting goaltenders:
NYI- Rick DiPietro (2011-12 stats: 2-2-2, 3.34 GAA)

PIT- Zbynek Michalek (finger, out), Dustin Jeffrey (knee, out), Ben Lovejoy (wrist, out)

Game thoughts:
The waiting and anticipation is over. Sidney Crosby is back. It’s a tad surprising it’s against the Islanders, considering the melee/brawl/gong-show on Long Island last season. Nonetheless, it’s great for the NHL that Crosby is back in the lineup. The Penguins have beaten the Islanders in each of their first two meetings this season, and you can expect more of the same tonight in the Steel City. The building will be jacked up for this one.
Prediction: Penguins 5, Islanders 2

The rest of today’s predictions:
Flyers over Hurricanes
Capitals over Coyotes
Blue Jackets over Flames
Bruins over Canadiens
Devils over Panthers
Stars over Oilers
