TEAMS: Boston Bruins

Via NESN:

Any Bruins fan who has listened to or watched Jack Edwards knows he has a tendency to wear his heart on his sleeve.

That was on full display Tuesday night, when the Bruins came back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the Rangers with less than a minute to play thanks to two goals with their goalie pulled. Edwards was unable to contain his excitement after Brad Marchand‘s tying goal, and he jumped for joy in the NESN booth while calling the game.

Watch Edwards react to the goal with Andy Brickley in the video above and animation below.

Bruins Sign Forward Jay Pandolfo to One-Year Contract

Jay Pandolfo has been traveling with and practicing with the Bruins for the last few weeks, but he was doing so without a contract. He got that contract on Tuesday. The Bruins signed Pandolfo to a one-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. That deal won’t become official until Pandolfo clears waivers. He was placed on waivers Tuesday. The 38-year-old is a native of Winchester,...

Tyler Seguin ‘Pumped’ for Upcoming Revolution Season, Tweets Picture Wearing Revs Scarf (Photo)

Tyler Seguin is among the many New England residents who can’t wait to watch some live professional soccer. The Bruins star Tweeted a picture of himself wearing a New England Revolution scarf, saying he’s ready to see the New England Revolution in action at Gillette Stadium. “Getting pumped for the @nerevolution home opener. #bethere323,” Seguin remarked. The New England...

Jack Edwards Defends Announcing Style After Jumping for Joy During Bruins-Rangers Game

Jack Edwards loves what he does for a living; we should all be so lucky. Maybe that’s the reason that some sports fans are so eager to jump on him when he makes a seemingly over-the-top call while broadcasting Bruins games on NESN. He was at it again on Tuesday night when the Bruins took on the Rangers at TD Garden. Edwards was shown jumping up and down after Brad Marchand scored...

Claude Julien Takes Positives From Bruins’ Shootout Loss to Rangers (Video)

Trailing the Rangers 3-0 midway through the third period Tuesday night, the Bruins looked to be headed for just their second regulation loss of the season. But the B’s engineered a stunning comeback, scoring twice in the final two minutes of regulation to send the game into overtime. New York pulled out the win in a shootout, but head coach Claude Julien and the Bruins managed...

Claude Julien Says Tyler Seguin Must ‘Bear Down,’ But Expects Forward to Come Around

BOSTON — The Bruins have been one of the league’s best teams through the first quarter of the shortened NHL season, and they’ve been able to do so without much of anything from one of their best players. Tyler Seguin‘s production is down, by his standards at least, through the first 11 games. After Tuesday night’s shootout loss to the Rangers, Seguin has just two goals...

Bruins Sign Veteran Jay Pandolfo

The Boston Bruins have added veteran winger Jay Pandolfo with a one year deal worth $600k The Boston Bruins have started the season with a franchise best record of 8-1-1. A good start is key for any team hoping to capture a playoff spot in a lockout shortened season. However, a consequence of a shortened season is shortened training camps. Without training camps, players are more...

Bruins’ Struggles on Power Play Not Huge Cause for Concern When Compared to New York’s Similar Issues (Video)

The Bruins might be having some power-play issues, but at least they’ve got good company. The Rangers are having similar issues with the extra man this season, and considering that many pundits pegged the Blueshirts as the team to beat, maybe the B’s can rest easy knowing they’re not the only ones hoping to improve. NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette isn’t too worried about how...

Brad Marchand Leads ‘Goal Rush’ as Bruins Steal Point But Can’t Overcome Rangers in Shootout (Video)

The Bruins almost pulled off an incredible come-from-behind victory on Tuesday night to stun the New York Rangers … almost. Still, salvaging one point from what looked like a certain loss is something for the B’s to hang their hats on, considering how bleak things looked. Boston scored three unanswered goals — including two with the goalie pulled — to tie the game and send...

Bruins Sign Jay Pandolfo

The Boston Bruins have signed 38 year old forward Jay Pandolfo to a one year 600,000 dollar contract. The 38 year old Winchester Mass native had a long career with the Devils and recently bounced between teams. The forward has been practicing with the B's.

Bruins Can Be Happy With Surprising Point, But Must Take Lessons From Shootout Loss to Rangers

BOSTON — The Bruins can look at their Tuesday night shootout loss to the New York Rangers in one of two ways. The first way they can look at it is a more pessimistic way. Sure they came back and got the point, but had they played a little bit better, they would likely have come away with two points and a regulation win. The first 42:07 was filled with sloppy and unenthused play...

Rick Nash Dekes & Delivers Great Falling Assist Versus Bruins

Despite only being about a quarter of a way into this condensed season, the Bruins and Rangers met for the third and final time this season on Tuesday night in another matchup of Eastern Conference powerhouse squads. The Rangers got on the board first 10:37 into the opening period when the Rangers new All-Star forward Rick Nash put forth an outstanding individual effort to create...

Bruins Show They Have Hearts of Champions, Lose in Shootout 4-3

Boston MA. The New York Rangers came in tonight on their second trip to the Garden and their third meeting with the Bruins over the first month of the shortened NHL season. The Rangers were the first to strike as Rick Nash drove through the zone drawing three Bruins and Tuukka. Nash fell to the ground but was able to pass the puck to Carl Hagelin who finished it behind an out of...

Bruins Erase Three-Goal Third Period Deficit, Lose In Shootout To Rangers

Rangers 4, Bruins 3 (SO) Despite only being about a quarter of a way into this condensed season, the Bruins and Rangers met for the third and final time this season on Tuesday night as each Eastern Conference powerhouse squad tried to win the season series two games to one. Just as we saw in the previous two meetings, the B’s and Blue Shirts came out ready for a very physical and...

Don't Call It a Comeback! Because It Fell Short. BRUINS LOSE.

So ummm... we can't even be mad at that loss. Sure, the Bruins played like crap for 99% of the game and spotted the Rangers three goals but they did not deserve a point, but they stole one! But seriously, how bonerific (what is the girl equivalent?) were those last few minutes when Rask was pulled and the B's were storming the Rangers net like the beaches of Normandy...

Ty Anderson: Live-Blog: Hagelin gives Rangers lead in Boston, Pandolfo signs

Despite a game in hand and a six-point cushion on the New York Rangers, the Boston Bruins know what they’re getting when the Blueshirts arrive to the TD Garden for the season series finale between these Eastern Conference foes. Skating in ten contests since the start of the 2010-11 season, the clashes between the B’s and Rangers have resulted in seven one-goal games, with...
