A man who was acting as Santa Claus at a festival in Toronto was fired for telling a young boy that his favorite team, well, is pretty bad.
The Santa apparently showed up 30 minutes late for his gig at Lowe’s Toronto Christmas Market and then proceeded to insult a 3-year-old boy.
“The first thing he tells my son is, ‘Oh, you look like Paul Bunyan,’” the child’s mother told the Toronto Sun. “Really? Is that appropriate?
“Then he said, ‘Oh, you’re wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs tuque, you shouldn’t be wearing that, they suck.’”
The mother took the insults as a clear sign to leave. She says her son was crying all the way home and asked who Paul Bunyan was. The mother says all she could tell her son was that Santa was having a bad day.
Upset over the issue, the mother went on the festival’s Facebook page to complain.
Just came back from the market and I am fuming! The market itself was so so, great freebies and great carol singers. But, I have a 3 year old and the reason we went there was for him to see Santa. SANTA WAS A JERK! My son waited in line during a cold and snowy afternoon and the first thing Santa told him was that his thick GAP black and red jacket made him look like Paul Bunyan. Then he also pointed out my son’s Toronto Maple leafs winter toque and said he shouldnt be wearing that and that the Maple leafs suck! What an awful experience for my boy, because Santa said his favorite team sucked! then my son wanted to know who Paul Bunyan was. It was the worst Santa experience! My initial post was deleted so I am reposting this.
The woman says she received an apology from the event’s organizers. The Toronto Sun also confirmed that the Santa has been fired.
And here we were thinking this sort of thing only happened in movies. This is the exact sort of thing that could scar a poor child for life.

" only happens in the movies " ! OMG ! I hope not. What would it be called " SANTA says U suck ". A movie with a running time of about 5 minutes, then everyone , including that 3 yr old will have compleatly forgotten . Who is the guy who wrote this dribble.? WOW !

What you "KNOW" is what's in YOUR family and trying in vain to cast a broad shadow over EVERYONE else.It's a scientific FACT that, albeit far and few between, some people can remember when they were still in their Mothers womb."I" certainly remember 71 years ago at only TWO years of age.Pearl.And just one year later,a Man KILLED by ejection from his vehicle.I did not KNOW what I was seeing but DID 2 years later.Speak for "YOURSELF" as you don't "KNOW" diddly about what OTHERS can remember.This incident CAN scar that toddler for the rest of his life.It just don't mean he will be dysfunctional.This is a 3 year old "NOT" a full grown naive,ignorant Adult."YOU" want the WORLD ro revolve around YOUR 2 Boys.It CANT happen and WONT happen.I have 2 Boys over 36 to 43 and 3 girls over 38 to 45 and I "DON'T" guage the WORLD by them.Get the drift?Lastly--You "KNOW" what you are talking about with regard to YOU and YOURS only.You have NOT the levity to SPEAK for everyone else.
This is a 3-year-old CHILD. He was there to have a happy day and see Santa Claus. He was there to listen to what the child wanted for Christmas. This IDIOT Santa was out of line. He wasn't hired for what he did You jerks trying to take up for this loser are unbelievable! I can't believe some of the posts here. I've lost faith in you guys.
You must protect your children nowadays. And personally, I wouldn't take my kid to Santa -- too many weirdos out there trying to get next to our kids to hurt/destroy their innocent lives.
SANTA YOU WERE A JERK! I'll bet this Santa is a bum in the first place and the employers had a feeling he wasn't right, and this incident just proved it to them, so he got axed!

And, as for the mom? I feel sorry for the 3 year old growing up in a household already ingraining class warfare and 'station.' That she would be aghast that her young white collar prodigy could be confused with a hard working blue collar legend is concerning. She specifically mentioned the 'GAP' jacket, like it was an entitlement to special treatment.
