Sean Avery was at it again. Let’s get right to the facts of the matter in the latest involvement of, ‘as the Avery’ turns.  How Darcy Tucker ever got the nickname Side Show Bob ahead of this guy is beyond comprehension. Ladislav Smid made several mistakes in their encounter on November 14th. They are obvious, especially in hindsight but I give the guy credit for at least wanting to stick up for his teammate, even though the hit was clean, it’s part of the landscape of today’s NHL-big time clean hit means somebody is dropping the gloves. Smid should have jumped right in risking the instigator, that’s number one. Number two, of all people not to wait for; Sean Avery would be at the top of that list. Avery clearly is seen mouthing the words, ‘wait, wait.’ There is absolutely no doubt about that. Smid should have fought at that time. And lastly and most important of all, if you are going to hang around in the vicinity of a potential scrap then you better be ready to go when it’s go-time...
