It appears as though former Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Vesa Toskala will play hockey in the 2010-2011 season after all. According to TSN.ca (via Swedish newspaper Expressen), Toskala has signed a one-month loan deal with AIK of the Swedish Elite League. The report says that Toskala will serve as the primary back up to starting netminder Viktor Fasth and that he is being brought in to replace the injured Christopher Heino-Lindberg. “Toskala is looking for a club in the NHL or KHL and needs time to play at as high a level as possible,” AIK Sports manager Anders Gozzi told the Swedish newspaper.  “Therefore this is a very good solution for both parties.” The 33-year-old is expected to arrive in Sweden on Tuesday and could even be in the AIK lineup on Thursday when they face Djurgarden.
