Gary Bettman wanted to make a statement about player conduct, and bought the hammer down hard on Sean Avery. TSN is reporting the NHL has suspended Sean Avery for 6 games, retroactively including the two games he's already missed. With four games left to serve, he'll next be eligible to play on Dec. 16th when the Stars host The Coyotes - if Dallas doesn't tack on a suspension or demotion of their own.
