The NHL took out a full page ad in several North American newspapers, including USA Today, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and The Wall Street Journal to publish an open letter to hockey fans apologizing for the NHL lockout. Above is a screenshot of the apology letter, and you can read the full text below as well: Dear fans: As your teams prepare for the opening face-off of the 2012-13 season, we thank you for your patience and we apologize to you for the time we missed. From today forward, we will do everything we can to make this season worth the wait.
