Kevin DeLury: 1. I normally don’t do predictions because I’m never right, so I’ve decided to reverse mush the Rangers. The Rangers will be a huge disappointment this year ending the season in second to last place in the Eastern Conference (sorry can’t put the Islanders ahead of them). Henrik Lundqvist will have a Vezina hangover and finish the season with just 10 wins, 7.55 gaa and .650 sv%. 2. Meanwhile, Rick Nash will melt under the bright lights of Broadway and never build any chemistry with Brad Richards. 3. Marian Gaborik will spend the entire season on injured reserve, while Michael Del Zotto will be assigned to the Whale two weeks into the season after failing to register a shot in goal in the first seven games. 4. Carl Hagelin will fall into a sophomore slump and Chris Kreider’s inexperience will be exposed. 5. The Rangers power play will hit a record low 1% success rate. 6. Arron Asham will be suspended for the season after biting the ear of a Bruins player in the opener (not sure, this actually might be positive). Ok, those are my predictions. You can thank me for just guaranteeing a parade down the “Canyon of Heroes.” James Wrabel: 1. Rangers will finish 2nd in the Atlantic, behind the Penguins. *going bold here and say order will be PIT, NYR, PHI, NYI and NJD. 2. Rangers finish 4th in the East (PIT, BOS, and **surprise** CAR will be div. winners) 3. Rangers will have the No. 1 ranked power play. Yes, I said it (going anti-Kevin). 4. Henrik Lundqvist will suffer from a slight Vezina hangover, going 23-10-3, 2.37 GAA, .905 SV% 5. Rick Nash will not crack 20 goals. In fact, Chris Kreider (17 goals) will finish with more goals than Nash (16 goals). 6. Ryan McDonagh (27 points), NOT Michael Del Zotto (25 points), will lead the Rangers in scoring for defenseman. 7. Arron Asham will become a fan favorite, replacing Sean Avery's popularity. And I do not like Arron Asham. It took a lot to type that. Gonna enjoy being completely wrong. Neill Fowler: 1. Rangers prediction: 32-12-4 68 points; 1st in East. 2. Rick Nash finishes top 3 in the league in goals. He'll be the only Ranger north of 25 goals. 3. Ryan McDonagh takes a big next step in his development, will lead all NYR defenseman in points and will get Norris trophy consideration at the end of the year. 4. The Rangers will make a big move at the trade deadline and it won't be for a stiff like John Scott. 5. Hank will play 40 games and run away with the Vezina trophy once again. Don't expect a peep from me as to what happens in the playoffs. The Rangers are built for the long run, but in a shortened season anything can happen.
