NEWARK, NJ - JANUARY 31: Jonathan Quick #32 of the Los Angeles Kings makes a save against the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center on January 31, 2010 in Newark, New Jersey. (Photo by Jim McIsaac/Getty Images)
There weren’t many Team USA hockey players who played very well in the team’s final two games of the 2014 Winter Olympics, but goalie Jonathan Quick did his job for the most part. As you might expect, he’s not happy with how things turned out. The goalie ripped the team on Saturday shortly after the Americans were blown out in a 5-0 loss to Finland in the bronze medal game. Quick was much better than the five goals would indicate, and he didn’t get a lick of help against the pesky Finns. That, combined with a semifinal loss to Canada on Friday was enough to fire up the Los Angeles Kings netminder. “We’re professionals,” Quick said, according to ProHockeyTalk.com’s Jason Brough. “We play back-to-backs all year long. There’s no reason we show up and not piss a drop.” Quick wasn’t just throwing his teammates under the bus, though. He also admitted he didn’t play well enough, either. Quick was also highly critical of his own effort:"My job is to stop the puck, and I didn't do that very well. Team effort. We weren't good."— Jason Brough (@JasonPHT) February 22, 2014 Photo via Twitter/@LAKingsFiled under: NHL, Olympics, Top Stories
