James Naismith’s 13 original rules of basketball is close to finding a permanent home. The original rules were sold at a Sotheby’s auction for $4,338,500 to Kansas alum David Booth in December of 2010. Now, Booth is working with Kansas Athletics Inc. and an architectural firm to figure a concept on how to display the rules: Booth said the future home of the rules could take the form of an addition to Allen Fieldhouse near the existing Booth Family Hall of Athletics The rules do get returned to their rightful place since Naismith was an assistant basketball coach and later the athletic director for Kansas, or if you are a rival it is just another way for Kansas to brag about their basketball history.
