Ottawa won a brawl-filled game 6-1 against Montreal Sunday night, giving the Sens a 2-1 lead in the series. Ottawa's Jean-Gabriel Pageau, scoring his first career playoff goal, gave the Senators a 2-1 lead early in the second as he slipped between defensemen P.K. Subban and Andrei Markov to beat Carey Price over the shoulder. The Sens never looked back after that. Pageau is not likely to forget the goal since he was hit in the mouth by Subban during the play and lost a tooth. Players could be seen looking for the missing chopper on the ensuing goal celebration.  "I might put it under my pillow and see what happens," Pageau kidded. The crowd at Scotiabank Place chanted Pageau's name and the Ottawa native says he's hopeful to give them the opportunity to do it again.  "It was good motivation and forced me to push myself to keep going," Pageau said. "They liked my game and I didn't want to disappoint them after that."  The third period star...

No supplemental discipline for Montreal Canadiens or Ottawa Senators after brawl

The only person missing from the Ottawa Senators thrashing of the Montreal Canadiens was WWE chairman/mouthpiece Vince McMahon. It is true that these are two teams that hate each other with a passion that is usually limited to a blood feud. However, what erupted in the third period that contest was downright ugly. Please click here to read this extensive story which features multiple...

Senators-Canadiens Line Brawl Highlights Wild Third Period in Game 3 of Series (Video)

Canadiens-Senators, despite featuring two Canadian teams from the same difference, doesn’t have the same reputation as a rivalry as, say, Maple Leafs-Canadiens. That might change after Sunday night in Ottawa. The Sens and the Habs locked horns in a wild affair that the Sens ended up winning 6-1. The game unraveled quickly for Montreal midway through the third, and that’s when...

His goals-against average sits at 2.01, which ranks sixth. Meanwhile, Price finds himself 15th in both categories, with a 3.69 GAA and .879 save percentage. Price's stats took a hit after the 6-1 loss...

Several Canadiens-Senators Players get Into Fight During Playoff Game (Video)

If you ask me, hockey fights are a pointless endeavor, a lot of the times they’re forced and not that entertaining. But, it’s a part of the culture and probably won’t stop anytime soon, so why fight it? (no pun intended). During Game 3 of the first-round match between the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators in the NHL Playoffs, a brawl broke out on the ice and every...

Video: Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens have a good ol' line brawl

Tempers finally boiled over between the Canadiens and Senators in Game 3. Following a horrific injury to Lars Eller and some angry comments directed toward Ottawa coach Paul MacLean, the two teams finally duked it out after Ottawa scored their fourth goal of the game to give them a commanding 4-1 lead with roughly 12 minutes left in the third period. My goodness. The video...

Eric Engels: Senators Come Alive in Game Three, Habs Embarrassed

You didn't think the Ottawa Senators would just roll over and die, did you? It really puts the game one steal into perspective. The Habs dominated the first two games of the series, but only won one of them. They won it with brash physicality, a nose for the net, timely scoring and excellent goaltending. The game two win would've demoralized the Sens, had it sent...

Senators get short-handed goal in OT, take 3-1 series lead over Canadiens

With a stirring comeback victory, the Ottawa Senators defeated the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 (OT) in the Eastern Conference playoffs Tuesday in Ottawa to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.  Kyle Turris' shot from the sideboards at 2:32 in overtime slid past Canadiens backup goaltender Peter Budaj to give the Senators an improbable win -- where they rallied from a 2-0 deficit in...

TiqIQ Ticket Preview: Senators vs. Canadiens

by Eli Epstein, TiqIQ If teams hadn’t gotten the point yet, they’re certainly getting it now: Don’t doubt the Ottawa Senators, at any cost. Montreal is learning this lesson the hard way. Through four games, the historic Habs are down three games to one to a team that was discarded as a hodgepodge of minor league have-nots during the regular season and then again as cobbled...

Jean-Gabriel Pageau loses tooth, hands it to backup goalie, scores hattrick

The Ottawa Senators-Montreal Canadiens playoff series has been the most intriguing series and it all started with Eric Gryba crushing Lars Eller and continued with Brandon Prust calling Ottawa’s head coach Paul MacLean a “bug-eyed fat walrus.” A new trend has started in this series, a player has lost a tooth in every single game and the team with the player that loses the...

NHL Playoff Observations -- Tuesday

Just a few things that caught my eye: No offense to Peter Budaj, but Montreal has no hope without Carey Price between the pipes. He was terrific before he went down. #HabsDown. The Isles are like a bad rash -- they just won't go away. They haven't figured out they're supposed to lose to the Penguins. Andrew MacDonald will be hard to replace, though...
