The Florida Panthers added size up the middle by drafting Aleksander "Sasha" Barkov with the second overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Despite being only 17, Barkov ranked among the top 10 scorers of the Finnish Elite League with 48 points in 53 games last season. Panthers scouts spoke highly of the center on Saturday, noting his maturity, size and offensive ability. Head scout Scott Luce told the media Barkov's transition to the NHL should be smooth due to his experience in Finland.
