Boston Bruins fans feared the worst when top center Patrice Bergeron suffered his fourth career concussion back on April 2.Would he play again this season? Would he return at all? Marc Savard’s sad case came to mind for everybody. A series of concussions knocked Savard from hockey and left him dealing with lingering post-concussion syndrome. But Bergeron’s head cleared very quickly after the incident. He returned to practice at full speed and appears ready to return next week – and possibly Monday against Ottawa.“I felt better quicker, the symptoms went away faster this time,” Bergeron told the Boston Herald.  “I had some headaches the first day and the next day I was fine. It was very encouraging. “I’ve been (symptom-free) for quite a while now, so it’s really good news. Even working out, pushing and shoving with the guys, I’ve felt fine.”Bergeron has become an old pro at dealing with concussions. He had a good feel for how to manage his recovery.“It’s one of those things that alway

Weak Penalty Kill is Biggest Concern in Bruins Loss (Video)

The Bruins couldn’t come away with a win against the Hurricanes on Saturday night, and poor special teams play was part of the problem. The ‘Canes scored their game-winner on a power play toward the end of the game, and the Bruins failed to capitalize on their opportunities in front of the net. The loss to a struggling Carolina team makes it harder to make a case for the Bruins...

Bruins Add Depth For Playoffs

I have chosen a rather mundane title for this post because from an NHL standpoint this probably isn't a significant story.  The Boston Bruins have signed Carl Soderberg to a three year contract worth $1 million per year.  This season counts as the first season of the three so he will not play many games in his first "year".  Boston has seven regular season games...

Carl Soderberg is a Boston Bruin... For Realz This Time

Seriously. The Hockey Yeti is officially a Boston Bruin. It's on the Bruins website and everything now: “We are fortunate to get a player like Carl at this stage of the season. I would like to thank the President of the Linkoping hockey club, Mike Helber and their GM, Johan Hemlin, in playing a significant part in allowing Carl to play for the Boston Bruins. Carl...

Bruins-Senators Live: B’s Look to Gain Some Momentum As They Open Homestand Against Sens

11 a.m.: The Bruins are in a bad way right now, but they’ve got a week of games at home to right the ship starting Monday with Ottawa. More importantly, however, is the fact that they’re starting to get healthy. Boston returns home after a highly disappointing loss to the lowly Carolina Hurricanes where they’ll host the Senators on Monday night in the first of four consecutive...

Ty Anderson: Bergeron in line to return tonight vs. Sens?

Fear not, fans of a Boston Bruins squad that’s dropped two games in a row in disappointingly passive fashion, reinforcements are on the way. On the heels of a ho-hum loss against the New York Islanders, and experiencing the same fate against Justin Peters and the Carolina Hurricanes on Sat. night, dropping a 4-2 contest in Raleigh capped by former Bruin Joe Corvo’s...
