While the NHL owners and players’ association sits and waits for the other side to budge on numerous financial issues in the collective bargaining agreement, Pavel Datsyuk will be playing hockey in his native land of Russia. He has agreed to hook up for former Red Wing Sergei Fedorov and play for CSKA Moscow of Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League. Fedorov is the team’s general manager. “Pavel is really excited,” said Gary Greenstin, Datsyuk’s agent, Wednesday morning from Russia. “It’s a good organization that really wanted Pavel. Fedorov is the (general) manager of the team, and he really wanted him, too.” Should the NHL lockout end during the 2012-13 season, Datsyuk will return to the Red Wings. As for other Red Wings playing overseas, per the Detroit News, Wings defenseman Jakub Kindl confirmed on his Twitter account he will be playing for Pardubice (former Red Wings goalie Dominik Hasek’s hometown) in the Czech Republic.
