Meet Tanner Glass, owner of a titanium jaw.
The Penguins and Predators squared off on Friday night in Pittsburgh, and while Pittsburgh’s big guns of Evgeni Malkin, recently returned James Neal and Sidney Crosby all made their mark on the scoresheet to give their team a 4-1 lead before the end of the second period, tough guy Tanner Glass wasn’t content to sit this one out.
Nashville enforcer Eric Nystrom challenged Glass to a fight in and attempt to fire his own team up during the third period, and the scrappy Glass more than happily accepted the offer.
Nystrom landed the first few punches, stinging Glass, before the Pittsburgh fighter regained his balance, upended Nystrom’s helmet and then landed a punch square to the back of Nystrom’s unprotected head. Down he went in a unanimous decision for Glass.
Nystrom appeared shaken up after the fight and would not return to the game. To his credit, Glass attempted to stop his opponent’s fall to the ice and showed concern for his dancing par...

There's no shortage of Sidney Crosby fans in Pittsburgh but this female admirer gave crashing the boards a whole new meaning. The woman was captured by television cameras during the rivalry night game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night:Too bad for her, the oft-concussed Sid is already taken.
The Penguins have been in one of their worst offensive slumps in recent memory lately, managing just three goals in three games, and all of which have come on the power play. Thankfully, they have the opportunity to right the ship tonight when they host the struggling Nashville Predators at Consol Energy Center.
The Preds are on the tail end of a seven game road trip that has...
Welcome back James Neal!
While he returned to the ice earlier in the week against the St. Louis Blues, last night against the Nashville Predators was when he really returned to form.
Looking every bit the sharpshooter we've come to know and love, Neal once again seemed at ease skating with Evgeni Malkin.
Talent helps make talent better. Neal would not...
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Nashville Predators were happy to be back home, even if it was for just one game.
Rookie Marek Mazanec made 39 saves for his first NHL victory and the Predators beat the Chicago Blackhawks 7-2 Saturday night.
Craig Smith scored a goal and added two assists for the Predators. The three-point game equaled the Madison, Wis. native's career high.

Pittsburgh Penguins Head Equipment Manager Dana Heinze has a Twitter account (@RealDanaHeinze) that you should all be following. Every gameday he posts pictures from the arena and locker room. These are just a few of my favorites from this week.
Apparently someone on the Penguins’ staff likes gum. The gum needs its own bag complete with name...
The Matchup: The Pittsburgh Penguins (12-7-0) visit the New Jersey Devils (6-8-5)
The Last Meeting: The last time these two teams met was opening night of the 2013/2014 season. Pittsburgh skated away with a 3-0 win and opened our eyes to the many struggles that the Devils might have this season.
Going Into Tonight’s Game: The Devils gave a good effort last...
Last night in New Jersey Marty Brodeur and the Devils defeated the Penguins by a score of 4-1. Marty B looked incredible. You might not have noticed that he is the Devils back up goalie. At times I wished that they had Corey Schneider in net instead but clearly that might not have solved the problem. Loses are never easy, especially when they come from this fan base.. Okay, that...
Mired in the midst of a season-long four game losing streak and allowing 17 goals in the same span, Nashville had to either find a way to plug the deluge of scoring or find another option in net. Against the Chicago Blackhawks, tops in the Central Division and one of the better teams in the National Hockey League, the Predators decided to give Marek Mazanec his second straight start...
The Penguins started the season with a home win over the New Jersey Devils, though Pittsburgh did suffer a major blow with the loss of James Neal.
Neal has returned, and apparently so has the Penguins' offense.
The forward will look to help Pittsburgh continue its recent scoring outburst Saturday night when it goes for a rare win on New Jersey's home ice.

Nashville closed out their 17-day road trip at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh with a 4-1 loss to the Penguins.
After Gabriel Bourque opened the scoring for the Predators in the first period, the Penguins scored four unanswered goals on Nashville goaltender Marek Mazanec.
Marc Andre Fleury took the win for the Penguins, stopping 17 of 18 shots, while Mazanec...
We had a feeling this was gonna be a great game, and that was the case until the Pens started running away with it. The Predators looked like a team at the end of a 7-game road trip that just wanted to go home.
The Pens did what they needed to do in this game, but overall it was a bit sloppy. Pens were able to get four past the chair the Predators...
Despite being outshot 41-30, the Nashville Predators defeated the Chicago Blackhawks by a shocking score of 7-2 -- and kicked ass in the process. Nashville showed up to play Saturday night, which was quite a refreshing moment after being outscored 17-2 in the last four games combined. This match was a classic example of underestimating your opponent.
The Predators opened up the...
