Penguins assistant Gilles Meloche was a long-time NHL goaltender and no slouch with 270 wins. Still, when he entered the team's dressing room Saturday night to congratulate pupil Marc-Andre Fleury on reaching 200 wins with an 8-3 victory against Buffalo at just 27 years of age, Meloche cracked, "You beat me by 10 years."

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, out since Dec. 5 because of a recurrence of concussion-like symptoms, was placed on the injured list on Saturday. Crosby has already been out the required time for someone on the injured list, so he could be activated at any time. He missed his fifth game, since his latest injury, on Saturday when Pittsburgh hosted Buffalo.

The Penguins' injury report grew again when defenseman Paul Martin missed Saturday's game against Buffalo at Consol Energy Center.
