The Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins put on a show for the crowd with a high scoring blow out game. The final score of 6-3 belied the loss of star power with league leader Milan Michalek out for Ottawa and Sid the Kid out for Pittsburgh. The damage was done with Spezza, Alfredsson, Karlsson and Cowen upping their game, while Pittsburgh support players Sullivan and Kunitz had solid nights.
It started with a surprising choice in net for both teams, as the battle of the backups began. Ottawa opted for Alex Auld to start this game, a choice which was later explained by the numbers. Auld has won more games against the Pittsburgh Penguins than any other team in the NHL according to his stats (5 wins, not bad for a back up). Johnson, on the other hand, has also had good luck against Ottawa and with back to back games and Buffalo waiting for them at home, the Pens surely thought that they could rest Fleury against a manageable team like Ottawa.
Turns out that they were wrong. Marc-An...

Video: Lil' Pens fan mad at Wings-backing folks
This is apparently the Pittsburgh Penguins biggest fan. His parents decided to play a trick on him when the Penguins played the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night. They told him they were rooting for the Red Wings and the little guy went crazy. He even chucked his little helmet at the ground is disgust and screamed like a maniac. He did get the last laugh though when the Penguins...

Who scored?
Sullivan (6), Niskanan (2), Malkin (12), Kunitz (10)

And now a soliloquy from a Penguins fan
Man, Sidney Crosby, injured again. This really underscores the importance of concussion safety. I mean, Crosby is struggling to recover from one of the most brutal, cheapest shots I have ever seen in my life from Dave Steckel. Honestly, he should have been arrested for that hit, let alone a penalty. David Kreijci isn't nearly as dirty a player because he doesn't play for...
Martin latest Penguin to miss time with an injury
The Penguins' injury report grew again when defenseman Paul Martin missed Saturday's game against Buffalo at Consol Energy Center. Martin appeared to injure his right leg Friday night when he was checked by Ottawa's Chris Phillips. "We're hoping it's day to day," coach Dan Bylsma said. "We're not certain."

Sabres-Penguins Preview
The Pittsburgh Penguins have felt Sidney Crosby's absence of late, but they're starting to feel the effects of some other injuries as well.
The Buffalo Sabres would like to capitalize on that again.

Penguins: Hits keep coming from all corners
It almost looks like a competition is brewing among a handful of Penguins to see who will finish with the most hits. Going into a game tonight at Ottawa, defenseman Brooks Orpik leads with 72, followed by forward Chris Kunitz (64), forward Craig Adams (60) and defenseman Deryk Engelland (59). So, is there a friendly wager? "Not really," Adams said. "[Orpik] has played...
