On Tuesday, Anaheim acquired center Mathieu Perreault from the Washington Capitals.  In exchange, the Capitals received left wing John Mitchell and a fourth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. "It was a little bit of a shock, but I'm very excited to get a chance to come to this organization," said Perreault. "Things were good in Washington, but I feel like this will be a good fit for me." Perreault played under coach Bruce Boudreau, so he certainly knows what to expect. The 25 year old has appeared in 159 career NHL games with Washington, scoring 33 goals and 70 points.  Perreault is very good in the face off circle, something the Ducks could use, having won over half of his faceoff attempts in each of his first two full NHL seasons, going a combined 397-for-776 (51.2) since 2011-12. "Adding a young, quality center to the mix makes us that much deeper," said Ducks GM Bob Murray about the latest acquisition. "I thought we needed some additional speed and scoring, and he is a feisty competitor. Having played under Bruce was also a factor in acquiring him, that's another positive. He makes us a better team today." In other notes:  The Ducks continue to pare down their roster.  Igor Bobkov has been reassigned.  John Kurtz and Brad Staubitz, who cleared waivers, have been sent to Norfolk.    At this point, that leaves the Ducks with 23 on the roster.  16 forwards (two on IR), 9 defensemen (two on IR), and 2 goaltenders.  Obviously once guys heal from injuries, more cuts need to be made, but in the meantime, it provides a few more opportunities to impress for several young guys on the edge.
