Peter Forsberg aka Peter the Great aka Fopa, started his NHL career with the Quebec Nordiques in the 1994-1995 season. When the team was sold to Colorado, he followed, helping lead the Avalanche to win the Stanley Cup in 1996. He continued to be a leading face of the forward team until 2004 taking time to play with Sweden at the Olympics or World Championship. He played with the Flyers for 2 seasons, 2005-’06 and 2006-’07, and with the Predators during the 2006-’07 season. He came back to the Avalanche for the 2007-2008 season. He has battled with many injuries throughout his career but the worst of which was his foot which became the career ender. He then left the NHL until he tried a comeback in February of 2011. This was short lived as he played 2 away games and then announced his retirement the morning of his first home game back on Feb 14th, 2011.
