The Nashville Predators host 31 players for the 2013 Development Camp at Centennial Sportsplex starting Tuesday, July 9 until Saturday, July 13. Full schedule here. Of the 31 players, here are five you need to watch this year.  Filip Forsberg, forward 18-year old Filip Forsberg has become one of Nashville's prized possession this offseason, seeing as how David Poile has signed tough guys to protect him. After playing five games last season on the top line, Forsberg knows what it takes to play against the likes of Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg and Vancouver's Sedin twins. The Ostervala, Sweden native was acquired from the Capitals at the trade deadline in exchange for Martin Erat. The general consensus is that the deal favored Nashville, but only time will tell. It all starts here. Seth Jones, defenseman Tuesday will be the first time the 4th overall pick in this year's draft hits the ice in Predators' attire. Seth Jones is expected to make the team and fill the top four role on defense, but that will all depend on how he does in development camp this week. The 6'4 potential-Norris winner will have the opportunity to work with new associate coach Phil Housley, once more. Janne Juvonen, goalie Predators' European scout Janne Kekalainen called Janne Juvonen his, "darkhorse pick" after the draft a week ago. If you may remember in the eighth round of the 2004 draft, Kekalainen had a major say in selecting Pekka Rinne. At 6'1, goalie coach Mitch Korn will take a different approach with Juvonen, than what he did with Rinne back then. If Kekalainen hits a home run on this in the future, he will be given a definite promotion somewhere in the NHL. Brendan Leipsic, forward After tearing up the Western Hockey League with the Portland Winterhawks amassing 120 points (49g, 71a) in only 68 games, Brendan Leipsic will get the opportunity to show off his skills and possibly receive a training camp invite in September. Last season, Leipsic won the CHL top scorer award and the Bobby Clarke Trophy for the most points in the WHL. The 5'8 pesky forward was drafted 89th overall in 2012.  Miikka Salomaki, forward Next season, Miikka Salomaki will be playing for the Milwaukee Admirals. He also has the chance at impressing coaches to give him the chance at going to training camp. Salomaki played on Finland's top line during the 2013 U20 World Juniors Championship with Joel Armia and Mikael Granlund, both future NHL-ers. The 52nd overall pick in the 2011 draft totaled eight points (3g, 5a) in six games. NOTES: Invitees to the camp include Ludwig Karlsson, Joe Pendenza and former Predator Blake Geoffrion's brother, Sebastien. Predators' 2013 picks not attending are Jonathan-Ismael Diaby and Saku Maenalanen. There will be twenty forwards, seven defensemen and four goaltenders attending. It is possible the schedule is adjusted a little for this week. Where the camp will be held, Centennial Sportsplex, is having ice troubles on one of their two rinks.
