Hi all! A new feature I am going to try to remember to do over the next little while is post some Preds highlights from our players that are, you know, actually playing. Why? Because we are a big strong beautiful franchise who don't need no lockout. Sorry about that ... it's Monday morning and felt persuaded to work that into the article. Hey! You know where it's not Monday morning? Belarus, where Pekka Rinne made his first goaltending appearance in the KHL for Dinamo Minsk!

Here's the video of Pekka Rinne earning his first win in the Minsk's defeat of Atlant.

Rinne is the goalie playing in the Blue - Green an awkwardly unmatching Gold and white blocker/trapper/pads set. He let's in a couple of goals including a ridiculous poweplay backhander (2:17) and a defensive breakdown coming from behind the net. But is solid through the 2nd and 3rd periods allowing his team to come back from a 2-0 deficit. It's also worth checking out the very EA NHL 13-esque goal at 4:20.  Rinne stopped 21 shots for a .923 SV%. Rinne will be joined later this week by Winnipeg's Evander Kane, who has also signed with the Minsk.

If you don't want to watch the whole video, Pekka makes saves at Pekka makes a nice recovery save at 2:08, 6:17, 6:44, 6:50. The first goal on Rinne is at 0:55 and the second is at 2:17.

ROMAN JOSI

Josi is playing for SC Bern in the Swiss league and is actually defensively paired with islanders defensemen Mark Streit. Josi had a Powerplay goal in the game, which was one of his 4 shots on net. HC Bern blanked HC Luango 5-0. This week John Taveres will join Josi with HC Bern.

Here is the video of Josi's powerplay goal.

Weber puts Nugent-Hopkins over the boards in must-see video…

Thanks to a small little glitch inside EA Sports’ NHL 13 video game — and to 2BCProductions for catching it on video — Nashville Predators captain Shea Weber can put opponents over the boards and then some.It turns out, if you time it right, you can send players flying by throwing a hip check and triggering a line change.
