MONTREAL, QC - JUNE 27: Gabriel Bourque of the Nashville Predators looks on during the 2009 NHL Entry Draft at the Bell Centre on June 27, 2009 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. (Photo by Richard Wolowicz/Getty Images)
Better late than never.... The Nashville Predators announced Tuesday afternoon that they have recalled forward Gabriel Bourque from the Milwaukee Admirals. This couldn't come at a better time as center Paul Gaustad was overcome with a upper body injury prior to Monday night's game against the St. Louis Blues and Richard Clune had to step in. Of course, Clune was ineffective except with a dirty hit. Bourque suffered an injury in mid-December with the Admirals, but is just about ready to go. Bourque may just get the nod to dress tonight against the Minnesota Wild. Here is the press release sent out by the Nashville Predators.     Nashville, Tenn. (January 22, 2013) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled forward Gabriel Bourque from Milwaukee (AHL). Bourque, 22 (9/23/90), has 12 points (7g-5a) in 15 games for the Admirals this season. During his rookie NHL campaign last season, the Rimouski, Que., native ranked ninth in points per game among rookies who appeared in at least half their team’s games (.44), finishing with 19 points (7g-12a) in 43 games. In the 2012 Playoffs, the 5-10, 192-pound left wing tied for the team lead in goals (3), and ranked third in points (5), setting franchise records for points (3g-1a-4pts) and plus-minus rating (+5) by a rookie in a playoff series in the Western Conference Quarterfinals vs. Detroit.
