Pro Sports Daily:
Carey Price ambled out of the Laval-sur-le-Lac clubhouse a month and a half ago shuffling up onto a riser and into a spotlight in which he lives his professional life.
“Everybody is really excited to get this year going. I don’t think anybody feels added pressure at all” Price said before the start of his team’s annual charity golf tournament.
The excited part was a given.
About the pressure? Call that a gentle fib.
Price was heading into the new season coming off a lacklustre end to 2012-13 one which at least in part cost goalie coach Pierre Groulx his job and a knee injury that slammed an early door on his playoffs.
In this city hockey’s off-season meal is an enormous portion of second-guessing with a healthy side of angst washed down with a mug of doom.
On that Laval morning Price spoke with muted confidence and calm enthusiasm about the challenge ahead. Now six games into the Canadiens season fans are sharing a little of the optimism he expressed that day.

It's hard to understand how a team can win 3-0 two nights earlier and then come back and lose 3-0 with a polar opposite effort. It was an ugly start and never really got much prettier as Carey Price led his team to a blanking of the under-powered and ill-prepared Jets.
There's no dynamic way to break down the game tonight. Put to the most basic and simple analysis not...
Former NHL enforcer and current politician Georges Laraque confirmed he's facing financial fraud charges but will continue running for a vacant seat in the Canadian parliament, according to a report from the CBC.
Laraque, 36, who played for four NHL teams between 1997 and 2010, says the charges stem from a dispute with engineer Marc Filion, with whom Laraque started a synthetic...

The bad news for Canadiens forward Daniel Brière is that he will start on the fourth line against the Winnipeg Jets Tuesday night.
The good news is that Brière has been around long enough to know that things can change quickly.
“The last game in Vancouver our unit didn’t play very well and I knew that with Brian Gionta coming back there would be some changes” Brière said...
Today’s player interview features Montreal Canadiens 3rd round draft pick Connor Crisp.
After being selected in the 2nd round of the OHL Priority Selection draft by the Erie Otters in 2010, Connor Crisp spent most of his first season seeing limited ice time and developing his game.
He was ready for an increased role in his sophomore season, but an injury derailed that plan, causing...
Columbus dropped a very entertaining, back-and-forth affair to the Montreal Canadiens Thursday night as Tomas Plekanec potted two goals, including an empty-netter, in the final 1:07 to break what had been a 3 - 3 tie. This game is one the Jackets will likely regret losing once they've had a chance to review the tape.
The Jackets overcame a three-goal deficit in the second...
The Montreal Canadiens will be without left wing Max Pacioretty and perhaps left wing Rene Bourque as well when they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at Bell Centre on Thursday night.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have had little issue creating scoring chances. Their problem has been capitalizing on those opportunities.
Facing the Montreal Canadiens - with Carey Price likely in net - might not help.
