PLAYERS: Nate Prosser
SATURDAYS STORY LINE: Nate Prosser was all smiles after Saturdays morning skate. The 25-year-old Elk River, Minn., native will be playing in his sixth NHL game tonight in front of about 25 friends and family members. Prosser, who was called up from the Houston Aeros to take injured defenseman Greg Zanons place on the roster, arrived in Minnesota on Friday night.Im excited to get up here and do what I can to help the team win a game, he said Saturday. The defenseman, who was plus-4 in seven games with Houston this season, is also excited for the opportunity to show that he can play in the NHL.Thats the goal when you are down in Houston, he said. You want to come back up, and you are just itching for it. When you get the opportunity, you do everything you can to show them what you are made of and show them that you can play here. Prosser played 73 games for Wild coach Mike Yeo in Houston last season and believes his familiarity with Yeo and the system will help him Saturday night. Its huge to have that, he said. To know the systems and know what you are getting into right from the drop of the puck I feel comfortable, I feel good right now. It is all smiles, and I am ready to go.Another reason Prosser will be comfortable is he will be paired with his defense partner from last season in Houston, Justin Falk.Me and Falk are paired up just like last year, Prosser said. We know where we are going to be, and we support each other.HE SAID IT: I am expecting him to come up and execute. He is a confident guy. He is a guy that knows our system well, knows how we want to play the game. I am anxious to see him play. Yeo on Prosser
