We've been saying that the Caps needed a big, veteran presence on their blue line. We just figured it'd be one that didn't already have a jersey waiting for him at Verizon Center.Meanwhile, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports that defenseman Dan Hamhuis(notes) of the Nashville Predators is not being traded. Sigh. 2:26 p.m. EST. Woo! Raffi Torres(notes) trade!Michael Peca(notes) on TSN called Torres a game-changer, and that's a stretch. But for a second-round pick and defenseman Nathan Paetsch(notes), that's a pretty darn good trade right there for the Buffalo Sabres. Adds grit, some goals and at the right price.
