Detroit Red Wings center Henrik Zetterberg had the following to say to The Detroit Free Press about the NHL canceling regular season games:
“[I]t’s not a big surprise for us. We are prepared for it. It’s just sad for everyone around it.”
Sad might be an understatement for most fans (and writers).
SENATORS GET INVOLVED: Senators Robert Menendez (D-New Jersey) and Frank Lautenberg (D-New Jersey) sent a letter to NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and NHLPA Executive Director Donald Fehr pushing for both sides to reach a settlement.
KHL GAMES TO BE TELEVISED: The Russian-based KHL will broadcast at least five games in the United States this month on ESPN3. The league also plans to broadcast future games in the United States.
The first game to be aired will be between Dynamo Moscow and Ak Bars Kazan.
