It had been a rumored proposition around Hockeytown this week that defenseman Brian Rafalski would be returning to the Red Wings lineup this week after going down with a knee injury on October 9th.

Well, all signs point to those rumors being true as the word out of this morning’s practice was that Rafalski would be playing tonight against the Coyotes.

It is definitely a good sign for the already rolling Wings, who now get back one of the NHL’s top defenseman. Add Rafalski back to a team that is only allowing 2.58 goals per game (12th in the league) and all signs point to more success for the Wings.

Let’s hope Rafalski is able to shake the rust off early and be a key contributor in tonight’s contest.
