Chris Holt was a less than mediocre starting pitcher for the Houston Astros. Holt at 6-4 205 lbs, was drafted by the Astros in the 3rd round of the 1992 MLB Draft. Holt started off in Low A and went 2-5 with an ERA over 4. In ’93 he was  promoted to A and went 11-10, and had 10 complete games and 3 shutouts with a 2.27 ERA (his best year in the minors). Holt was promoted once again and went 10-9 in Jackson. In ’95 Holt was nearing towards the bigs and made it to AAA but had a losing record and a 3.58 ERA. In ’96 he proved he had the makeup to be in the rotation and was a September call-up. In 1997 Holt pitched over 200 innings, but gave up 211  hits and only had 95 strikeouts. His final numbers were 8-12 with a 3.52 ERA (that’s the lowest ERA he would have in his career). His next season in 1999, Holt went 5-13 with a 4.66 ERA. And in 2000 Holt somehow threw over 200 innings for the 2nd time in his career, but went 8-16 with an ERA over 5. In the words of Coldplay, “Nobody said it ...
