The New York Rangers defeated the Washington Capitals by the score of 3-1 in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals matchup. The Rangers lead the series 1-0. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports....i hope you like defensive hockey because that's what you're going to see in this series. Which, to me, favors the Rangers because they are much better at playing the low scoring, defensive minded game....so I think this Kreider kid might have a chance to be a decent NHL player. lol. His speed is devastating for opponents. Allows him to make plays no one else can....Richards may have had an underwhelming regular season points-wise, but he is sure earning that contract this post-season....speaking of Richards, the play-making ability of Stepan recently has him looking like a young Richards....don't think something special is happening here? Just minutes after the Rangers showed Stephane Matteau on the jumbotron, Anisimov scores a goal eerily similar to ...

Vokoun’s Failed Gamble

Tomas Vokoun has been one of the top goalies in the NHL for that last several years.  Many people haven’t noticed how dominant his play had been because it occurred outside the media spotlight in Nashville and Florida.  He became an unrestricted free agent last summer and many expected he would receive a big contract.  When the offers didn’t come in as he expected, Vokoun...

Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Brandon Dubinsky (lower body) was not on the ice for today's optional practice, but was seen  slowly getting around the Rangers' practice facility on crutches....in previous years, the possibility of losing Dubinsky long term would be a scary thought, but, to be honest, I don't think it would have that negative an affect...
