The New York Rangers (7-3-3) defeated the Winnipeg Jets (5-7-2) by the score of 3-0, tonight. For a boxscore and recap go to Yahoo! Sports....that's a big win tonight. Second game of back-to-back, final game of long home stand and facing a bad Winnipeg team had let down written all over it. Which is why, to me, this could be the most impressive win to date....Stepan looking like a young Brad Richards out there right now....Gaborik is making an early season case for the Hart trophy. Makes you wonder, how injured was he last year?...i know Del Zotto wasn't looking for Stepan on the power play goal, but when you're going good those breaks happen. Also loved how Del Zotto dumped Slater in the first period when he was poking at Biron....speaking of Biron, he didn't have to to be great tonight, but I'd take him over any back-up in the league right now....can you imagine how good McDonagh's going to be when he's in his prime?...Rangers undefeated since the Avery...

It’s a good look for him. He scored a beauty of a goal in the first period and also logged over 27 minutes of ice time in the Rangers 5-3 win. Really impressed with MDZ’s effort tonight. Photo Courtesy of Pat Leonard, and the Daily News.

The New York Rangers enter tonight's game against the Montreal Canadiens -- the first between the two this season -- having won their last two games against the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks, and with a 5-3-3 record on the year. The Canadiens, on the other hand, have won their last four games after struggling early, and are 5-5-2 in their first twelve games. Both clubs have...
TONIGHT’S GAME: The Rangers will close out their six-game homestand when they face-off against the Winnipeg Jets tonight at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.), in their third game in four days. The Blueshirts currently rank third in the Atlantic Division standings, and sixth in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 6-3-3 (15 pts). The [...]
Last summer there was a push amongst many to have Chris
Kreider (2009 1st round pick) turn pro even though he had a subpar season at
Boston College. The idea behind it was
that you get him in the professional ranks with the New York Rangers and let
them take over his development. Part of
the theory for some was that Kreider seemed bored with college hockey and was

Wojtek Wolski will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a sports hernia. He's expected to miss four weeks.
Marian Gaborik scored two goals and Martin Biron stopped 23 shots for his first shutout in more than two years as the Rangers defeated the Jets.
JOHN TORTORELLA said last Thursday that Wojtek Wolski had reinjured his groin when he was “accordioned” into the corner boards by an Anaheim player.
Marian Gaborik scored on an odd-man rush and into an empty net in the third period and Derek Stepan had a goal and an assist to help the New York Rangers beat the Winnipeg Jets 3-0 Sunday night. Martin Biron stopped 23 shots for his first shutout in more than two years, improving to 3-0 in his fourth appearance of the season.

The New York Rangers certainly bolstered their blue line today, agreeing to terms with unrestricted free agent Anton Stralman. After not receiving a qualifying offer as a restricted free agent of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Stralman hit the market as a UFA. He then failed to sign with the New Jersey Devils following their preseason...
Erik Christensen scored one of New York's three first-period goals, and the Rangers overcame a 1-for-9 effort on the power play to hang on for a 5-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
Before the season began would anyone have guessed that the Dallas Stars would be in first place in the NHL on November 8th? They have a 10-3 record. They are the only team in the league with ten wins. They have a .769 point percentage, which leads the NHL.
Dallas is a team going through bankruptcy. They struggled to meet the salary floor at the beginning of the season...
