Found January 27, 2013 on NY Rangers Blog:
The New York Rangers (2-3-0) defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs (2-3-0) by the score of 5-2, tonight. For a box score go to Yahoo! Sports. ...it might have taken 4 1/2 games, but it looks like training camp is finally over for the Rangers. Loved the energy and resiliancy tonight. If they can play with this kind of intensity for the rest of the season, the wins are going to pile up. Oh yeah, and Jason Arnott is on the way! ...no goals for Nash, but man that guy was all over the ice tonight. He is as advertised. ...and someone benefitting mightily from his acquisition is Gaborik who is finding more open ice than he's probably ever seen in his career. ...combined +12 for the "Welcome to the Jungle" line. ...most Rangers fans will tell you that Girardi or McDonagh is the best Rangers defenseman, but Marc Staal may have something to say about that. ...i guess Torts liked what he saw from Ferriero tonight. And so did I. Easily earned himself another gam...

Arnott does not pass physical, deal with Rangers is dead

Per John Shannon, the “newly signed” Jason Arnott did not pass his physical for the Rangers. This will kill any potential deal with the organization, and Arnott will return to the free agent pool. No details have been released about what prevented him from passing the physical. However, Arnott did have knee surgery over the summer, so that may be what killed it. Tweet

Rangers recall newly acquired Benn Ferriero

The Rangers have recalled forward Benn Ferriero from the CT Whale for tonight’s game against Toronto. Ferriero, who was acquired this week from Pittsburgh in exchange for Chad Kolarik, has 92 games of NHL experience –all with San Jose– putting together a line of 14-8-22 with 25 PIMs. Since it is expected that Chris Kreider is going to return to the lineup tonight, this move...

Chris Kreider Day To Day With Bone Chip In Ankle

#NYR rookie Chris Kreider day to day with a bone chip in his ankle. Had an MRI yesterday. Will be off ice at least for a couple of days. — Andrew Gross (@AGrossRecord) January 26, 2013   … a real shame but glad they were able to find the bone chip before putting him back [...]

Rangers’ powerplay crucial to season

We need to see more celebrating from the Rangers PP unit – and soon The Rangers need to get their powerplay to at least an acceptable standard and soon – otherwise it threatens to derail a hugely promising season. Already in this young but abbreviated season we’ve seen the Rangers powerplay, despite the addition of an elite talent in Rick Nash, fail to come through in crucial...

Rangers sign Jason Arnott

Via Darren Dreger, the Rangers have agreed to terms with veteran center Jason Arnott on a one year deal worth between 1.6-1.7 million.  More to come as details become available, but considering the Rangers’ lack of depth at forward and the early season face-off woes, I think this is a great pick up. Female Fan Responds to 'Girls' Guide' Fiasco as Rangers Apologize

Even today I'm still in disbelief at the Rangers decision to post their infamous "Girls' Guide to Watching Rangers Hockey." Hearing Rangers will now be forcing female fans to take a Blueshirts knowledge test before allowing them into MSG. Better start studying that guide ladies. In all seriousness, man you women were pissed yesterday. And I don't blame you...

The current records of last year’s playoff teams

There’s been a lot of talk about how the Rangers are 1-3-0 to start the season. There’s a lot of panicking because the Rangers have generally looked flat and rusty, and that since this is a shorter season they can’t afford to be losing games like these this. Yes, every game means the same in the standings, but not all games are created equal. It’s like face offs, even if...

A Guide Or A Jab?

from the New York Post, The Rangers — who posted an article on their website yesterday many viewed as sexist — quickly yanked the story less than an hour later after a flood of negative comments. The posting, which appeared in slideshow form, was entitled “A Girl’s Guide to Watching the Rangers” and gave words of advice to female fans on how to watch a hockey game...

Around the Farm: Whale win third straight entering All Star break

The Connecticut Whale won their third straight game last night, finally beating the Springfield Falcons by a score of 3-2. This was the Whale’s third straight win, moving them into second place, behind the Falcons, in the division. Christian Thomas netted another goal, giving him nine on the season. This gives him the highest total among rookies on the Whale, and the third highest...

Game Preview: New York Rangers vs Toronto Maple Leafs

TOMORROW’S GAME: The Rangers will begin a three-game homestand when they face-off against the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m. — TV: MSG Plus; Radio: Bloomberg Radio), in an Original Six matchup. Around the Farm: J.T. Miller named to AHL All Star Team

Before the Whale went on to win last night’s game 4-1, rookie J.T. Miller was named to the AHL All Star Team. Miller will be the Whale’s lone representative, replacing Chad Kolarik, who was traded this week for Benn Ferriero. Miller struggled out of the gate with the Whale, but has been much stronger since returning from the USA’s gold medal winning World Junior Championship...

Rangers publish their own "Girl's Guide to Watching Hockey", backlash ensues

Just when you thought the “While The Men Watch” controversy was over, it turns out it’s not. On their official fan blog entitled “Blueshirts United,” the New York Rangers published an article entitled “A Girl’s Guide to Watching the Rangers” (Note: Rangers have removed the posting). Its purpose was to help new female hockey fans learn about the team and sport...

Maple Leafs-Rangers Preview

The New York Rangers had Stanley Cup aspirations even before acquiring Rick Nash prior to the lockout. Despite their star power, they've yet to prove they're capable of living up to the lofty expectations. New York looks to get on track Saturday night by avoiding a third straight home loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have earned both of their victories on the road....

Rangers publish their own "Girl's Guide to Watching Hockey", backlash ensues

(Ed Note: This article appears courtesy our friends at Bloguin's national NHL site Puck Drunk Love.) Just when you thought the “While The Men Watch” controversy was over, it turns out it’s not.  On their official fan blog entitled “Blueshirts United,” the New York Rangers published an article Friday entitled “A Girl’s Guide to Watching the Rangers” (Note...

Finding Consistency

This is what the New York Rangers will try to do tonight when they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at Madison Square Garden. At 1-3 through four games, it is easy to see that the Blueshirts have not found the things that made them so successful last season on a consistent basis. In fact, there have only been glimpses of the team's tight defense, great goaltending from Henrik...
