Acquiring Mitchell is a joke really as he had cleared waivers and the Leafs managed to get a 7th round pick for a guy who was originally a 5th round pick and that is just a nice way of saying he's now worth no more than a bag of pucks and a roll of tape
The New York Rangers made a minor deal in the final minutes of the trade deadline, acquiring forward John Mitchell from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Mitchell, 26, saw limited time with the Leafs this season, playing in only 23 games and spending the remainder on their farm club.
Prior to this season Mitchell had spent the past two seasons on the Leafs checking lines.
It remains to be seen if he'll be joining the Rangers or headed to their minor league affiliate.
