The New York Rangers have called up forward Andre Deveaux from the Connecticut Whale. In nine games with the Whale this year, Deveaux has four goals, two assists, and 23 PIMs. This move is likely in response to some lingering affects of the Zenon Konopka hit on Artem Anisimov, a hit in which Anisimov landed awkwardly –face first– against the glass. Anisimov was not skating in practice today.

The New York Rangers 3-3-3 record to start the season
leaves much to be desired. Worse yet is
that the level of play on the ice isn’t even worthy of that mediocre record. The Rangers are lacking a lot of things on
both ends of the ice to open the season, but beyond the offensive and defensive
problems they seem to be lacking any sense...
Well that was interesting. The Rangers keep finding ways to lose games. First they couldn’t muster any offense, now they can’t hold leads and through all of it, they have still to play a complete game this season, something they were nowhere near to doing this afternoon. With the 5-4 shootout victory for the Senators in the books, let’s get to some thoughts on the game.

Steve Zipay tweets that today a Rangers spokesperson said there is no update on Marc Staal's condition.Meanwhile, Jay Leonard at the Daily News says the fact that John Tortorella did not mention Staal's name once during his public comments on Tim Erixon's assignment and Michael Del Zotto's hip ailment (he'll play tonight) yesterday speaks volumes that more than...

John Tortorella yesterday continued to express the utmost confidence that his wobbly 3-3-2 Rangers will gain solid footing on the season that continues with this afternoon's Garden contest against the Senators.

The Rangers gave themselves a blueprint for how to hold a lead in their first home victory of the young season: Get everyone involved. Four Blueshirts registered at least two points, led by captain Ryan Callahan (two goals, one assist), as the Rangers (4-3-3) snapped a two-game skid with a 5-2 win over San Jose (6-4-0) at the Garden. In the process, they ended a five-game winning...
While 20-year-old rookie defenseman Tim Erixon returned to the AHL following the Rangers' 5-4 shootout loss to the Senators on Saturday as part of the grand plan, the Blueshirts apparently can't fit Mats Zuccarello into the plan as they are currently constructed.
Coach John Tortorella admitted "Zuccarello was the...
John Tortorella may be impatient over Brad Richards’ lack of chemistry with Marian Gaborik, but as Saturday’s 5-4 shootout loss to the Ottawa Senators demonstrated, the Rangers have bigger problems.
