New York Rangers
In an effort to lighten the mood during the lockout, The New York Rangers Blog will be writing faux recaps of every Rangers game missed due to the work stoppage. Enjoy.
PHILADELPHIA - One night after John Tortorella could be heard yelling at Glen Sather for signing Petr Nedved, Radek Dvorak and Jan Hlavac to tryout contracts after the coach felt signing 50 year old men took away playing time from others, normalcy returned to the Rangers lineup in the form of a 3-1 victory tonight over the Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center.
The Rangers win came during Blair Betts appreciation night. Each fan who entered tonight's game was given a Blair Betts life-size poster. At the start of tonights game, the Flyers presented Betts with a plaque commemorating his 13 career goals with the Flyers and his #11 was raised to the rafters.
After a scoreless first period, the Rangers quickly got on the board to start the second when Derek Stepan found Chris Kreider streaking past Andre...

Although there is a lockout, it sounds like some NHL players aren't as badly off as you would think. Some players are still getting money.
Every NHL front office's worst nightmare during the lockout is that while playing in a league that isn't locking out its players, one of their own could get injured. New York Rangers, come on down! Rick Nash hurt his shoulder and was removed from a game in Switzerland, according to TSN's Darren Dreger, not yet having played a single game in a Rangers sweater. Instead...
According to the Daily News, New York Rangers forward Carl Hagelin has signed with Södertälje SK of the Swedish Elite League during the current NHL lockout here in North America. He will be headed to Sweden to join the team some time next week.
Hagelin, age 24, is the second of the Rangers to depart to overseas while the lockout drags on in the NHL, as Rick Nash is currently...
Sorry for the late news here. Our personal lives prevented us from a timely update on the Rick Nash injury. In Friday night’s 4-2 loss for HC Davos, the Ranger winger injured his shoulder in the first period. Ironically enough, the injury came from a collision with former Ranger Ilkka Heikkinen. Nash left the game in the first period as a precaution.
An MRI from yesterday showed...

The NY Rangers worst nightmare has happened. Rick Nash sustained a shoulder injury during the first period of a game today in Europe. In other news, Jim Dolan sent Gary Bettman 100 text messages (that he ignored) while the Commissioner was behind closed doors with NHLPA head Don Fehr. Just kidding about the text messages.
Disturbing news for any team and the news I fear the...
Newark, NJ - After a tense first preseason game in Albany, the re-match between the long time rival Rangers and Devils in Newark was more about prospects and training camp invitees trying to make an impression, as the Rangers came away with a 5-0 victory led by some familiar faces from the past.
For the second time in four years, the Rangers have brought Petr Nedved into...
