Free agent defenseman Alexei Semenov has agreed to terms with the New York Rangers. Semenov and the Rangers reached a deal Wednesday, just two days before they open the NHL regular season at Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh. The 28-year-old defenseman had a goal and eight points in 47 games last season with San Jose. Semenov had two assists and was a plus-2 with 12 penalty minutes in six preseason games with New York.
