With all the Crosby **** over All Star Weekend and then a semi-impromptu Crosby press conference with the Canadian media in town, the Pens fan base wanted nothing more than for the team to get back to playing some hockey. Then 2 minutes after the Leafs went up 4-1, some Leaf made a bizarre mistake and Sullivan had a highway down the right wing. He decided to blast one past the Monster to make it 4-2. The crowd was back into it. There was still unlimited time left. @DerickWoodard21 The refs forgot they weren't allowed to call penalties on the Leafs, and t...

Crosby press conference scheduled, then called off? Confusion city.

A very strange turn of events as confusion seems reigning around Sidney Crosby this afternoon. Here is what we know. This from Bob Pomp: And then 27 minutes later: Welcome to the circus...

Johnson's long wait likely to end tonight

At least one thing did not change over the NHL's All-Star break: Goalie Brent Johnson was in his usual position at the end of the Penguins bench Tuesday when their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs began at Consol Energy Center. Marc-Andre Fleury made his 23rd consecutive appearance - all but two of them as a starter - to extend the longest such streak of his career.

Malkin, Penguins storm back to knock off Leafs

After tying the game with a goal in the third period, Evgeni Malkin won it in a shootout, giving the Penguins their eighth straight win.

No miracles left in bag

The Penguins have been living on the edge lately. A lot. Just about every time they reported for work, really. And when a team spends enough time on the edge -- as the Penguins had done by going to overtime or a shootout in five of their previous six games -- it eventually falls off. Like the Penguins did in a 1-0 loss to Toronto Wednesday night at the Air Canada Centre.
